Results of Baseline Survey for Museum Educators and Power Users
In July
2007 the ArtsConnectEd 2 (ACE 2) power user (PU) and museum educator (ME)
groups were asked to complete a brief survey about their use of 8 types of
technology tools. The purpose of the survey was to obtain a baseline measure of
their familiarity and comfort with various technologies.
This master list of features and functions was derived, consolidated organized and edited from the following resources:1) 2007 Museum Educator Interviews; 2) 2007 Power User Focus Group; 3) 2007 Power User Survey; 4) 2005 ArtsConnectEd Focus Group; and 5) 2002 Trainer Exit Interviews.
This resulting master list will be used as the baseline for defining new ArtsConnectEd II features and functionality along with the input of the ArtsConnectEd 2 Technology and Education Committees.
A half-day focus group was conducted with 10 of the 12 ArtsConnectEd Power Users on March 24, 2007. Findings gathered from this focus group is summarized below.
Between January 8th and February 15th ArtsConnectEd 2 Project Managers conducted interviews with 12 Museum Educators within the Walker Art Center and The Minneapolis Institute of Arts to identify ways in which the educators were currently using ArtsConnnectEd in their daily work and what additions and improvements they would like to see in ArtsConnectEd 2.
